Diamondback Golf Course |
|
|
Diamondback has emerged
as one of the most spectacularly aesthetic golf
courses in Central Florida. The Joe Lee designed
layout was carved out of a virgin forest of pine
and oak trees that now decorate the course. The
terrain is vastly undulating and accuracy plays
a pivotal role in successfully negotiating this
golf course. Water hazards are limited and only
come into play on a few holes. The greens are
large and sloping and well protected by bunkers.
Diamondback was recently awarded four-stars by
Golf Digest Magazine for the Best Places to Play.
The course is very isolated and surrounded by
a natural wetlands. Practice facilities include
a driving range, putting green, sand trap and
chipping area. |
Eaglewood
Golf Club - public |
|
|
2 miles due east of Universal Orlando This
2611 yard golf course is flat and relatively short
(ranging from 86 to 255 yards eight holes exceed
155 yards), the fairways, dressed in wonderfully
tall native pines, are not lenient; and the small,
well-bunkered greens make you work. The back nine
is highlighted by water on seven holes. It's a terrific
experience for kids, seniors and serious golfers
honing their short game. Danny Vidmar, the head professional
who nurtures this tranquil, pleasant, walking course,
characterizes this par-3 course in sets of threes.
Three holes epitomize the front nine - the 5th, 6th
and 7th. They average about 155 yards and feature
tree-lined fairways; small elevated greens (some
crowned with perimeter mounding, sloping and sever
drop-offs; and crater-like green-side bunkers. Pars
don't come easily.
By cart or on foot, with offspring
or alone, a golfer will enjoy this outing. |
